Warm Nest Thornhill - Your home away from home We are a family of three living in the Thornhill community of Markham, York Region, Toronto, Canada. Our child is currently a university student, so we are happy to provide a quiet and comfortable homestay environment for a student who needs care and support. Our house is conveniently located near the Thornhill community centre, between St. Robert Catholic High School and Thornlea Secondary School. A bus stop is a 5-minute walk away, ensuring safe and convenient transportation for students to and from school. We enjoy being around young people. The husband loves cooking and preparing delicious meals for the family; the wife works in cultural publishing and is friendly, patient, and good at communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds. We hope to provide a clean, quiet, and culturally rich living environment where the student feels comfortable, cared for, and able to focus on their studies. Room(s): 1. Single Room (Second bedroom (southwest)) with Private bathroom This is the second bedroom on the second floor, facing southwest. It has excellent natural light and views, and includes a private bathroom. Capacity: 1 Rates: 400.00 Weekly / 1300.00 Monthly 2. Double Room (Master bedroom) with Ensuite bathroom The master bedroom on the second floor is a very spacious suite with a separate bathroom and walk-in closet, and it is very quiet and comfortable. Capacity: 2 Rates: 550.00 Weekly / 2000.00 Monthly 3. Single Room (Second bedroom (southeast facing)) with Shared bathroom This is the second bedroom on the second floor, facing southeast. It has good natural light, a double bed, a walk-in closet, and shares a bathroom with other guests. Capacity: 1 Rates: 350.00 Weekly / 1200.00 Monthly House Rules: Welcome to Warm Nest Thornhill. We aim to provide students with a safe, comfortable, and respectful living environment. To ensure a pleasant atmosphere, please carefully read and adhere to the following family rules: 1. Curfew and Going Out Please be home by 9:30 PM on weekdays. Please be home by 10:30 PM on weekends. 2. Participation in the Kitchen We provide regular meals daily. Breakfast is usually self-service; lunch and dinner are provided or packed according to the school's arrangements. Please do not eat in your bedroom unless specifically permitted. 3. Hygiene and Laundry Students are responsible for keeping their rooms clean. We encourage students to participate in simple chores, such as cleaning up after meals. Laundry is usually arranged 1-2 times per week, with times negotiable. 4. Visitors and Overnight Stays Visitors are not allowed to be brought home without the host family's consent, and overnight stays are not permitted. 5. Safety and Prohibited Activities Smoking, underage drinking, drugs, and any illegal or dangerous items are strictly prohibited. 6. Respect and Privacy Please respect family members and keep quiet after 10 PM. Do not enter other people's rooms without permission. We also respect student privacy and will not enter student rooms without permission except in emergencies. 7. Communication and Emergencies If you return late, are sick, or encounter any problems, please contact your host family immediately. We will do our best to provide help and support.
