Garden Sanctuary Near Colleges

We are a retired high school English teacher and a retired rehabilitation counselor. We love exercise, biking, gardening, swimming, and movies. We have a small Maltese-poodle mix dog named Phoebe. She does not shed and is hypoallergenic. We have two rooms available, and have hosted international students for over 20 years. We have two sons and four grandchildren that live locally. One son is a police detective and one is a professional musician and producer. Our oldest son lives in Minnesota and has twins - a boy and a girl. We have the local families over often and enjoy spending time with the San Diego grandchildren (12,16, 2, and 6 months). I am an author and published my first book, Things My Mama Never Told Me, in 2021. I am writing a second book now. We are only accepting girl students at this time between the ages of 18 and 25. It has a book shelf, a fold-up desk with drawers, a window, a comfortable chair and a desk chair, and lots of whimsical art on the walls. Capacity: 1 Rates: Weekly / 1200.00 Monthly 2. Single Room (Kanji Room) with Shared bathroom See the desk area picture of this colorful room. There is art work from Nepal, Bhutan, Amsterdam, and Africa, plus the original kanji art that matches my tattoo (mother and sons) and gives this room it’s name. Capacity: 1 Rates: Weekly / 1200.00 Monthly House Rules: 1. No smoking or nicotine/tobacco products of any kind. 2. No alcohol. 3. Respect your personal room and shared space by picking up after yourself. 4. Keep noise to a minimum after 10 pm. 5. Notify the host if you will be out all night. Enjoy the gardens, pool, and BBQ. Enjoy guests after checking with host family. *if either the host or the guest are unhappy with how the house rules are being carried out, two weeks notice can be given by either host or guest and the homestay agreement will end.
