We are a semi-retired couple living in a comfortable home in the Burnaby Hospital area with our daughter. We are of European decent speaking English and Greek. For the most part only the 3 of us live in our home and we are occasionally visited by our other daughter, son in law, and grandson from Toronto. We enjoy participating in, and contributing to our Greek Community along with travelling, swimming, cycling and other exercise, camping/fishing. Our home has a space to offer to students while studying in the Burnaby/Vancouver area. In the past we have hosted students for whom we provided meals and access to our main living area. Although this was a nice experience we decided that it would be nice for an independent student to have a living/study area where, if needed, we can provide information and support but not shared living or access to our living area. Our home is close to bus stops and skytrain stations making it easy to get from UBC to SFU, downtown, North Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster and Surrey; we are walking distance to BCIT and to Burnaby Hospital. The bus routes to Metrotown Mall, Brentwood, Lougheed Mall and Downtown are minutes away from our home Grocery shopping and amenities are not too far, coffee shops and some food places are within walking distance. There is a community centre/pool/library about a 20 minute (walk) away on a bus route 2 blocks away. Room(s): 1. Single Room (One Bedroom) with Private bathroom Capacity: 1 Rates: 250.00 Weekly / 1100.00 Monthly House Rules: General quiet time after 9pm No overnight guests, visitors ok if cleared with owner for a few hours but they cannot do laundry or take showers Personal items should be left in the bedroom Laundry only once per week Living area to be kept clean after each use, any spills should be cleaned immediately The entry door and gates must be locked and kept closed Garbage and recycling policies must be adhered to Venting- Bathroom and hood fan must be used No smoking, vaping Bed linens, towels kitchen appliances and utensils are provided- Guest is responsible for their cleaning and maintenance The bedroom has a sink and mirror for personal hygiene, washing face, brushing/flossing teeth and facial shaving - these are preferred not to be done in the main bathroom Check in - tour of space discussion of expectations, giving of keys Check out- inspection of space for damage and cleanliness- in case of mess or garbage- owner has the right to keep all or a portion or all of the deposit Return of keys to owner and key-deposit to guest Deposits- to be returned after $50 deposit for keys $200 deposit damages and cleaning Host to provide body soap, kitchen soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies. salt/pepper Amenities: Internet Access, Laundry, Parking Local Amenities: Shopping Centre, Local Bus Stop, Hospital, Park, Local Train Station
